After successfully winning funding of £50,000
through the Peoples Millions Lottery award Plymouth
Drake Sea Cadets has been able to purchase a brand
new Safety boat and two new minibuses.

Plymouth Drake Sea Cadets were shortlisted for the
Peoples Millions Lottery award competition back in
November 2009. Plymouth Drake Sea Cadets were one
of just six groups within the West Country competing
for the funding through the ITV’s Peoples Millions
programme. Since winning the money the Sea Cadets
have been able to get a custom built Rigid Inflatable
Boat which will act as a safety boat. They have also
been able to purchase two 17 seat Ford Transit minibuses
to help transport the cadets about. The initial bid
was only for one minibus, however with the help of
Nick Miller and his team at M4 Minibus they were able
to get two buses with the available funds.
The equipment is now in full use and has significantly
helped improve the activities undertaken by the cadets.
The buses have meant that the cadets can now go to
places without the worry of breaking down, whilst
the safety boat has opened up the ability for on the
water activities to be conducted safely.
